    Questions according Airspeed 5000 protocol

    Normal 0 21 false false false DE X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Normale Tabelle"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;}

    1. Protocol Formatting says

                    All commands are formatted using XML data packets with the following major tags.

                    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    Question: Has the line <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> really always to be sent in advance of each <AMS>-Block?

    Question: Is there any termination of lines/tag-blocks by a CR or LF?

    2. Response:

                    All XML commands will respond when the command is completed with the following:
                    <AMS><Reply Status=”STATUS” Msg=”MESSAGE” ErrNum=”N” /></AMS> Message response

    Question: Are the Return Tag Elements and Attributes also enclosed by <AMS> and </AMS>?

    Question: Is there a <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> in advance of the Return Tag Elements?

    Question: Does the Reply-Status in case of “Get”-Commands come in advance of the Return Tag Elements, or after, or not at all (because it is obsolete if an answer is given)?

    3. Cued Clips:

    Question: Is there any chance to read out the ID of the currently cued clip within a channel?

    Question: Is there any chance to read out the motion state of a channel (EMPTY, PLAY, STOP, CUED, PAUSED)?

    Hi Hermann,

    Here are the answers to your questions:

    1) The xml version formatting is recommended. You might be able to omit it, but it is considered part of the official API protocol, so you should include it.

    2) Every response will be bracketed with the tags <AMS> and </AMS>

    Every response will begin with the xml version string

    I'm not quite sure what you're asking about the Reply-Status.

    3) You can get the status of a channel - which includes the playing clip, the cued clip, and the motion state with the GetStatus command. Here is an example:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
            <GetStatus TimeCode="ABSOLUTE" InputStatus="false" CuedInfo="false" />

    Example response:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Reply Status="OK" />
    <StatusInfo Ctrl="PLAYING" Active="0_308" RecMode="false"  Dur="00;02;49;28" iDur="5094" Name="NexisClip.308" Cued="0_309" Pos="00;00;28;06" iPos="846" />

    Please let us know if you have other questions.

    Hi Charlie,

    that kind of answers are very helpful as containing a practical example of a response. This example automatically shows answers to three of my questions at once:

    1. Every response will be packeted with the tags <AMS> and </AMS>.

    2. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> preceds each answer.

    3. <ReplyStatus> always is the first Tag within <AMS>...</AMS>-Block
