Why is 100Mbps 4K so slow in MC? Am I doing something wrong?

    I linked Media to 100Mbps 4K raw-material from GH4 in a MC 8.4 1080p25 project. My computer is approved, the 4K files come from an USB3 SATA-drive.

When I play the files in MC they stutter and are crazy slow even in yellow mode.

When I play the files back with a VLC, Media Player or whatever other program, they are absolutely smooth, no stutters at all.

    What am I doing wrong?

I assume you are using H.264 for your recording? It is not the data rate that is causing the stutter. Avid MC does not have support for hardware decode acceleration of H.264.

Best to transcode it to something natively supported like DNxHR.
