I know this topic has been discussed in MANY post already but please indulge one more question:

Can I use a version 6.5 or 7 MC and run script sync on footage and scripts and then open that project in v8.3 and use the 'sync scripts' I have generated like I would 'normally'?

Would this also work for Phrasefind? (i.e. is there a database file that comes across and is accesible on a system running MC8?)

Please let it be so Huh?

Yes, it is possible with ScriptSync. Not sure about PhraseFind, that had never actually worked for us as expected - to the point Avid reimbursed us and gave us ScriptSync licenses.

I don't use Script Sync, but no...PhraseFind won't work in v8.

You can drop back to v7 to edit using PF and then pop back up to v8 once you're done.
