I had to do some data recovery on a drive recently and now have about 1 Terrabyte of .mfx files like:
mxf_file-00016.mxf
mxf_file-00017.mxf
mxf_file-00018 .mxf
and so on...
Is there any way Avid will be able to relink to these clips since obviously their name has been changed upon recovering them???
It depends on whether the metadata remained intact inside the file. You'll get a hint if it will work if the drive is indexed when Media Composer starts up.
Must think of something clever to go here...
hi hbrock.. it did not attempt to index when MC started up... that being said, media creation tool does not allow me to select my internal drive even thogh sytem drive filter is not on....
any thoughts on how to force it to scan/recognize the internal drive?
Newer versons of OSX won't allow you to write to root level folders by default. You need to set permissions on the Avid MediaFiles folder on the internal drive to allow "Everyone" to have Read/Write privledges.
