1. For standard definition, my camera a Sony HXR-NX5U produces MPEG2 files which I already knew are not supported. So the issue becomes converting the files before importing. Currently every conversion through Sorenson Squeeze 9 I've tried has ended up losing an unacceptable amount of color depth no matter the file type I choose. As files they all look great in the QT Player but it's after they import in to Avid MC they lose color depth. So any advice would be appreciated. 2. AVCHD footage imports directly to Avid with only one problem. The image quality in QT Player or Avid looks good and the same. The problem is the joins in the automatically created video segments often produce a tick in the sound and sometimes a warped first frame when joined together. Some of that I can improve by reformatting the camera's Flash recorder and SD cards each time, but it still occurs from time to time. So I wondered if you had any ideas about that? Thank you.
