The standard configuration requires that the Global preset of the Global Settings for the NVIDIA driver be set to “3D App - Video Editing.” However, with this setting, the Marquee Title tool will not launch. It is nopt a great patch as it does not solve all the problems in the version, pe:
- We cannot use special characters in the sequences names (when transfering with Transfer Managers it crashes)
- There are inconsistencies when using and changing between different tools (audiomixer, capture tool, NRCS, ...) and finally we must restart the aplication.
Hi Sistemes BTV, I think I can help you with both of those issues.
1) Media Composer and Newscutter can use all the special characters you can throw at them, without issue. I just created a sequence called @$,.! and it works fine. But once you take Media Composer or Newscutter into a shared environment using Transfer Manager and so on, now you are leaving the perfect realm of edit software and entering the crazy land of Engineers... servers...windows networks... broken version environments and hundreds of other limitations. So it's not the editing app that yells at you about special characters but the dozens of hardware and software components in "Engineer Land" that need to work perfectly in order to insure that your file gets to air without hiccups.
2) I'm concerned about your inconsistencies. You shouldn't be seeing those. Please create a new post in this forum and fill it with as much detail as possible about exactly what is happening. We'd love to help. Include screenshots if possible of any error messages, and even of settings. This definitely sounds like something we can fix.
Thanks!

Hi,
We have the same problem when switching between NCRS, Audiotool , Color correction etc. The most frequent problem is that NRCS freezes. If you log in to NRCS, select a story, create a bin, minimize NRCS do an edit and try to get back to NRCS the window is frozen and you can't select a different story. The only way to get NRCS back is to restart Newscutter. It is very annoying and causes frustration in our newsroom.
10.5.2.1 fixed NRCS POST to WEB bug when it was crashing on custom templates but it didn't fix stickiness.

Piotr
Hello Piotr,
I don't know if 10.0.3.4 Patch solves the freeze windows problem.
If not, we found that the solution is MINIMIZE that window (not close).
When you maximize the window back, you can continue working without restarting Newscutter !!
I do know that the 10.0.4 patch has several fixes relating to some of what you are experiencing so it is worth upgrading to it.
the readme is here:

The software is on the DL center.
