Whenever I shut down the video monitor out (blue monitor button low left in timeline) MC is very fast, much much faster then v5.0. But whenever I have the monitor on with MXO2 mini everythin is super slow, it's even slower on my 16 gb Sandy bridge i7 3,7 ghz GTX 580 3gb vra, then it is on my Macbook Air Late 2010.
Color correcting and trimming is unworkable. Without those two I can't edit and I can't manage colors (I need the monitor for that). What is wrong? This is clearly something wrong.
MC6.0 is a worse release then when I bought v5.0 I'm sorry to say, I think that version got bashed a little too much, but this, keyboard binding all wrong (when they are right in settings), super slow with MXO2 mini, editing in different resolutions doesn't work etc.
These are not minor bugs, these are essential for editing. I'm curious to how these got past the beta stage of testing?
64 bit, GPU acceleration, better AMA, better exports with GPU acceleration, better grading with true secondary and lift gamma gain, higher resolutions (4K, 5K etc.) and a video stream online (for directors being far away on the phone or skype).
That would blow ANY competition away and it will be future-proof MC for a long time.
Glans,
I am sure I look like crazy to you when I say that MC6 is the best MC ever.
But I see that apart plugins eclipse at the moment this is super fast here.
I do not own an MXO2 mini and I can't comment to that but I have no
problem believe what you are experiencing.

I agree, on paper and outside of the bugs and errors I encountered it's great, that is not enough though. Are you able to bind keys to your own language-keyboard? Have you tried editing 25i material in a 1080 25p timeline?
Do you have another breakout box? Or Avids own?
I would understand if a BlackMagic card or Aja card or others have problems due to them being new to MC, but MXO2 mini was the first third party box to work with Avid and I think it's rather weird that it slows down MC so much to the point it's almost unworkable.
I am thinking about the cheap (all I can spell now ) Intensity Pro.
I would like the Intesity USB3 version but this is not qualified yet...(?)
I just want HQ output for CC on a small HD TV that I own.
You are correct about the MXO2 but are there others using it with out problems?
I have exactly the same issues that you are having. Super slow editing with Matrox Mini and total confusion with the keyboard layout. Not being able to use the short cuts that I have been using for the past 12 years brings the slow editing almost to a complete stop.
This is indeed frustrating, as I'm in midst of finishing a project and can't really afford to be slowed down that much (deadline next week).
Would be happy to hear about a way to improve the speed with Matrox Mini and solve the layout confusion!
Thanks
Vince
Hmmm. I'm Mac based, but I can tell you this, as soon as I installed the latest Matrox drivers for my MXO2 mini w/Max, my MC6 started crashing on launch. I'm assuming they (Matrox) didn't release a driver update that flat doesn't work, so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt until I've had a chance to do a clean install of Lion and kinda start from scratch this weekend.
Will try to report back from the Mac side of things in a few days.

I too am experiencing slowing with the MXO2 Mini active. I wouldn't call it unworkable, but there is a very noticable lag when I am using the Mini.
Kirk
same here..
slower editing, very slow color correction respond and broken trim mode (images are not updated in my PC monitors while trimming)
All gone when disabling the blue icon on the timeline.
I wonder if this is also the case for anyone running a Quadro card with their mx02 mini. I see that Matrox lists a number of Avid-certified systems the mini is compatible with. Each of those systems uses a Quadro card. I see all of you have Geforce cards.

I have an mx02 mini but I haven't installed MC6 yet. I was going to wait at least for the first patch, but maybe I'll give it a try to see how the mini works on my non-certified system with a Quadro card.

I saw that at least one user with a quadro card is reporting slow preformace with MC6
You are more then welcome to try :-)
dor:I saw that at least one user with a quadro
Ah yes, Vince (Vinne). In that case I think I'll just wait for at least the first patch before I install MC6 thank you very much.
My system isn't really qualified, even though it is powerful, but I can see here that some report the same problem on qualified HP systems and Mac systems. So it's definitely not on the user side.
I have put out a thread on the MXO2 mini with MC6.0 forum at Matrox with this, I will link this thread to there so they can see that many more have this problem.
A friend of mine is running 5.5.3.1 on a Nehalem 2.26 Mac Pro, GT120, 6GB of RAM (supported config) with an MXO2 Mini. He's reporting slowed down response of the system when the Mini is turned on, especially when working with Caps Lock on. Any clues?
I am running MC 6 with a Quadro 1500 card, and I have also noticed that my timeline is noticeably sluggish when the MX02 is enabled.
I spend most of my time between New York and Los Angeles. In Nebraska.

Can't be it, I mean, people would have noticed it back then when it was released, I have seen so many report about this including me that it's not isolated issues.
