I would like make both a Blu-ray and a DVD version of a 23.976p video I am working on.
Avid-DVD's built-in help says that it builds 1080p23.976 Blu-rays, but it does not look like it builds native 23.976p or 24p DVDs.
I generated a QT Reference from a 1080p23.976 MC project and imported it into Avid-DVD, but the Avid-DVD timeline seems to insist on having 29.97 frames per second, with every fifth frame being a duplicate of its predecessor. How can I set up a 23.976p timeline in Avid-DVD? Or will Avid-DVD just do the right thing in spite of the timeline's timecodes, and build the resulting BD with the correct 23.976p frames?
Also, does anyone know whether Avid-DVD can actually build native 23.976p DVDs? Or, barring that, can it build a correctly-working 2:3 pulldown DVD easily from a 1080p23.976 QT Reference?
I would like to use Avid-DVD for this project, because of its ease of use in quickly putting things together, but if necessary I can switch to Encore (assuming that Encore can do 23.976 BDs and DVDs!).
I've been reading the Avid forums for a couple of years and really appreciate all of the help you folks have given me just by answering other people's questions. This is the first time I did not find the answer to my question already there!
