I'm starting to word with avid software and would like to have a tutorial to help understand avid better.
Start with the tutorials provided by Douglas Bruce. They are extensive, and cover almost every aspect of editing with Media Composer.
Series 1
Series 2
You can use the Sample Project that accompanied the software for source footage.

Hi Devotion,
Welcome to Avid Community! In addition to Randall's suggestion, there are many free (and paid) learning resources available from this page on Avid.com: http://www.avid.com/US/products/Media-Composer/resources.
Happy learning,
Adam

And when you've gone through all of Douglas's tutorials, you'll have lots of questions, and the Avid forum is the best place to get them answered.
(That in no way is to imply that Douglas's tutorials are confusing, but that there is so much to learn on Avid, and it is a very long and complex process, and the help here is the best in the world)
And good luck
