Hi Editors: I've reached an impasse at the moment on trying to determine what Microsoft update patches are approved by Avid and what ones are not. I know how to get Win XP Pro with Service Pack 2 to list what hot fixes are crammed into my machine, but what I have not been able to find is a list from Avid of the approved windows update patches which should be residing on my system (If any ?). I did a search through the Avid knowledge base hoping to find the right .pdf listing them, but once again I've come up empty. Can anyone here assist me on this ? I want my HP nw9440 laptop to be as correctly configured as humanly possible for the level of MC I'm using.

Mark, if You go by the readme You can't go wrong, some configs may need an hotfix, whenever that is the case it's documented.

Hi Luca: I've done this with MC 4.0.5.14, but it doesn't mention Win XP configuration info about hotfixes. I know Service Pack 2 & Service Pack three are OK, but what about all those tons of pesky little hotfixes ? Another nasty, which I have personally witnessed causing problems is Net FRame Work ! These are evil, nasty Microsoft crap software updates, which only seem to mess up an OS !

Win XP SP3 is supported on MC 4.0.5, it includes all of the Avid supported hotfixes.
