    Matrox Mini MX02

    Hello

My Matrox Mini arrived today and it is now installed and working a treat.

I have  noticed that you can do HD and SD monitoring on it through the HDMI cable (okay the SD projects dont look too good, but you can do it).

But, the sound is also routed through to the HDMI output device (i.e my LCD TV speakers).

Is there a way to route the sound out through the audio card like it did before the Matrox device was installed?

I prefer my sound coming out of amplified speakers. (It just sounds better than the TV speakers).

Lastly - for those of you using the Mini with MC5 - besides from using the device as a client monitor, what else do you do with it - does anyone use it to capture analog video? etc etc?

    Regards

    Neil

    Hi,

I use MXO2 and the audio output. It has two RCA audio jacks out and it is synchronized sound with HDMI output.
So far I have not tried anything over MXO2 record, but in theory it should go from Matrox application, and then link the AMA.

    Re: Matrox Mini MX02

    Thanks William

I have done what you suggested

To do this, I placed a switcher box between the amplified sound and the Matrox and my sound card output - so when I am in MC5 with Matrox mini running I switch to that source and if I am reviewing audio outside of MC5 I switch over to the Sound card output.

Also for general information I missed the e on the end of PCI/e and so removed my Audigy sound card to make space for the MXO2 but in fact there is room for both as the audio card is PCI and Mini is PCI/e !

    Anyway cheers

    Re: Matrox Mini MX02

    Hi Neil,
I'm glad my advice helped. I use a connection like yours, I MXO2 audio output and sound card connected to a small mixer, and if necessary switching between the two. I got connected to the use of other sources such as DV / HDV camera in exports over 1394 will be broadcast on tape for synchronization control of audio and video.
