I was attempting to export a change list from Filmscribe, when it gave me an error, due to disparate lengths between the sequences. the program then suggested I restart my computer and crashed (the program not the computer). I closed down Media Composer and restarted my computer.
Upon restarting MC now just shows the "The application AvidMediaComposer quit unexpectedly" error and asks if I want to relaunch. When I relaunch, it all begins again, even when I had it reset application settings and relaunch. I even uninstalled FilmScribe, in case that caused the error, and restarted again, this time letting the tower cool for several minutes.
It says that the library file "libSwrtFx.dylib" is missing, and when I looked the entire Avid folder in Application Support was gone.
Has anyone has this happen before? and if so are there any solutions that I can do quickly? Should I just reinstall? I need this program back up and running fast.
Thank you all.
I am running Media Composer 3.5.1 on Mac OSX 10.5.6, 2x2.66 GHz quad core Intel Xeon processor 6Gb 1066 MHz DDR3/
Uninstall and reinstall. Make sure you select all of the programs (the other programs don't usually default to being installed).
Must think of something clever to go here...
