What is your video source?
I bet you are using HD with a high bandwidth (i.e., kb/secs or Mb/sec) as your video source.
.
somthimes the source is MXF DV420 , MXF 1:1 SD
and some times is hd 185 x
i all the kind the randers import or export is slow ,
the video card of my is quadro fx 1800.
and when i exam the proccess levels ( from Windows Task Manger --> Performance ) it showing
that the import export or rander is working only in one proccess out of the 8 that i have
my proccessor is i7-960
please some one have an answer for fastting the avid performance ?
-- in the same computer i test after effect CS5 and all the proccessors was working at the randering or exporting file from the after effect .

Avid doesn't fully use all of the available cores, this is a known issue, but it is not an issue on a i7 CPU, as on this platform the CPU is smart: when running a multithreading enabled applications all of the available cores are used, when using an application that is not optimized for multithreading the CPU redirects all of the available horse power to the core being used by the application.

Do you use multiple raids... or do you have everthing on the single Raid 0 HD setup? And, when I say "everything"... I mean do you have your Video source material, your operating system, and your render drive all on that single raid 0 setup?
my raid is 4x1tb raod 0 by windows system stripe option.
but... you only have one raid... correct?
yes .
only one raid .
the system is 1tb wd sata3 connects to the matherborad via sata3 connection.
So... you actually have 1 raid AND 1 - 1tb Sata HD...
I am assuming you keep your video source on the 1tb Sata HD and NOT on your raid... correct?
If not, then that could be your problem...
