    How did you capture the m2t files? What application did you use to capture the tape files?

    Not to confuse the issue, but I was in NYC a few weeks ago at an Avid seminar. Forget the gents name (long curly hair), but afterwards I askes about the 8 bit vs. 10 bit. Two key points.

     

    1. Never use import with H.264 (5D) files, always link from AMA then transcode. (all kinds of bad things happen when import is used)

    2. I told him I was using 1:1 RGB and asked if 10 bit was overkill. He said the system sorta kinda fills in the blanks to make it feel more like a 10 bit color space.
