I'm getting some incomprehensible or otherwise unclear error messages at seemingly random intervals. I'm thinking I probably need to try either deleting user settings or reinstalling. My software worked perfectly with my hardware previously, and the only hardware changes have been an additional 2TB of high-speed hard drive, which did not correlate with the error messages beginning.
I took screenshots of the errors in hopes that someone would know their cause. The error in the screenshot named "Audio Startup Error" happens occasionally while MC is starting up, when it says it's "Initializing Audio Plugins." The error message appears, and when you click OK, the application quits, and you can start it again without a problem.
The screenshots are being difficult to upload, so please go to files.coltonvideography.com to see them.
The other three errors happen sporadically with almost no discernible pattern. The last of the three seems to happen more often when I am using the Paint Effect for intraframe editing.

The link doesn't work.

I'm failing in all kinds of ways, then aren't I? The link now works. You may have to refresh it once.
Do any of them look like this one... and, yes... I have more and different error messages since this one...

Are you using the script tab in your bin?
.
Corrupted media file perhaps? Ever rebuilt the media databases?
I haven't rebuilt the databases in a while, so I'll do that and see if it helps. I'm about to write a short program to delete them, since finding the files is a pain in the @#%
I use Script View extensively but these errors don't only occur there. Although after following your link, it said that quick scrubbing could trigger it, which is true in my case. I can usually scrub fine but the error messages are often after lengthy processing and quick scrubs.
Does anyone know how to delete user settings? I had the impression that that sometimes helped. I haven't wiped settings since installing 4.0, and now I'm on 5.0.3, so I'm probably overdue .

The errors don't have to occur in the bin... my experience has been if the script tab is open during the editing process you can get all kinds of weird error issues with MC5.

Really? That's odd. Would you suggest switching out of Script View if I'm done working in that bin, to avoid any possibility of issues?
I have been avoiding using script view altogether. Eventually Avid will fix this bug.
I use it a lot to organize soundbites, so I think I'll continue using it, but on a more limited basis.
Yep... switch out of Script View would be the best medicine... hopefully, you wouldn't get the error issues you seem to be getting...
And... if you havent' already seen this thread...here ya' go:

Yea.. I hope so... but, at the rate it has been going... that might be called MC6
Again, I have not seen a correlation to Script view, but I'll see if it occurs again when I'm not in script view
Sadly, avoiding Script View has not helped.

I thought that only NVIDIA Quadro FX cards were supported.
