    HDV Capture Problem

I am having trouble capturing from a HD recording into MC 3.5 by marking an in and out point on the tape. It works fine when I just turn my HDV deck into local mode and press record on the capture tool but when I try to set in and out marks while the deck is in ilink mode I get an error message saying there is a communications error with the deck. Can anyone suggest anything that might help?

All I can say is good luck. I have found firewire capture to be very buggy. I wish I could offer some direction, perhaps somone else could chime in.

It would help to know exactly what device and frame rate you are capturing.

And yet, with my FX1 firewire capture in MC has been very good (much better than in any other app I've used). I always log my clips and batch them later and this works very well with the FX1.

Now, my HV20 is a different story - a bit buggy on the batch capture side but workable.

It seems that Sony works better than Canon and MC.

But I have seen problems with Z1 and my system here, at the work and at another studio.
