In my Z7 sony camera I have a compact flash that create files in HDV format( .m2t.) I can easely import in XPRESS in 1080i 50 mxf format (hdv), but I would like to import it in DNxHD120 or more. All the tests that I have made carry to the HDV codec , and I do not succeed to import the files .m2t in dnxHD120. If I go to STANDARD HD it always goes import HDV, even if I go in 25i, the files are in HDV 1080i 50. Is there any tips to force the system to import .m2t in DnxHD codec and not in HDV 1080i 50? thank you
Well, there are probably two choices. You could import them as HDV native files, then select all the clips in the bin and transode them to DNxHD. That's probably the best way.
The other way would be to use something like TMPGEnc XPress to convert the files to DNxHD clips first, then 'fast import' them into Avid.
I'm dealing with this workflow right now on some AVCHD footage from a Canon HF11 camera. Footage looks really good, but it's a pain to have to batch convert the footage before importing into Avid. Good news is, it allows me to remove the pulldown from the 24p clips and they work flawlessly in an Avid 23.976 HD project.
Good luck.
