In MC 3.0, when I export my HDV sequence to tape, about every 10-15 seconds or so Avid will go blank and say "not responding" for a few seconds, then it will come back.  Everything seems to go onto tape alright but I was just curious if anyone else has seen this.  I am using Vista on a Dell qualified laptop.  Media being transfered to tape was coming from an external FW 800 drive.

 If I understand your post, you were moving data from a firewire device through your computer and out to another firewire device (your camera or deck)? I'm impressed that it worked.

Yes Avid will sometimes do this. It is basically the GUI not being able to redraw itself fast enough since the app is taking all the resources for the current task. It happens a bit more often when firewire devices are connected (mojo, DV, Adrenaline, etc).
