    hdv export and m2t files

i'm working on a project in hdv. the client would like an HD avi file while when I do an export I get an M2T file.

anyone know what export settings I should use or if I can convert an M2T file into an avi or a mov?

    thanks a lot

Unfortunately, saying you want an AVI file does not fully define the deliverable. AVI is a container to hold one or more media streams. Each stream can be in any arbitrary compressions codec (or uncompressed). As your customer which codec he/she wants and then you can use the Windows Video export option (not at my machine - don't remember what the options is called specifically) and select the codecs from there.

Be aware also that Avid's AVI implementation is type I, which has a maximum file size limit of 2 GB.  It would probably be better to use a QT ref export with an external program doing the final AVI version from that.
