After Effects Preview Problem with EMP

Since several years i use the avid plugin for the preview on an external monitor in after effects. After the installation of CS3 Production Studio and MC 2.7.5 the plugin (of the 2.7.5 version) doesn`t work properly. Very often the picture disappears after scrubbing or editing. Uninstall and reinstall didn`t solve the problem.
    Any ideas ?

I've had similar issues in the past when jumping back and forth between AE CS3 and MC Adrenaline.  EMP would crash (stop working, blank screen) and I'd get an error message in Avid stating that the DNA has become disconnected or something. This never happened with CS2. A simple reboot fixes my problem.  Lately though this bug has just seemed to dissappear...I haven't done anything to the system.  It hasn't happened in a long time.

Do you have the Adobe DOwnload Manager set to automatically download updates?

Perhaps the problem was with AE and Adobe fixed it...

No, no internet connection on my Avid.  But to be honest, I haven't had this problem in ages.  It must have sorted itself out somehow, as strange as that sounds. Or maybe I loaded an AE update somewhere, don't know.

I´ve downloaded the CS3 updates. Problem still persists. Don`t know if it`s MC 2.7.5 or CS3.

If you can, perhaps try an older version of the EMP plug-in.  Maybe you can then determine which app is at fault.  Way back with CS2 and the older version of the plug-in that came when my Adrenaline was first delivered I didn't have any issues.

Re: After Effects Preview Problem with EMP

I just installed CS3 with my Adrenaline v. 2.8 and the EMP does not work properly. Video shows up on my monitors, but it is distorted. I loaded a previous version of AE (7) and it worked fine. So it must be CS3. Any ideas?

Re: After Effects Preview Problem with EMP

I'm still running MCA 2.2.6, so I don't know whether that has something to do with it.  What I have found is that I get distorted images in AE when I send out comp sizes that my PAL SD monitor can't handle, eg. HD or 1000x250 or something like that (usually web or multimedia projects).

Perhaps someone else can provide some insight here?
