Capture window displays only top half with no way of expanding lower region.  Received the following error message upon engaging V1, A1 & A2 tracks in capture window.  If I reinstall Avid Xpress Pro will I lose my media files or timelines?

Without having any info on your system, versions or setup i will be guessing.,... try to run the Avid installer and it will prompt you with a repair option as well. That will be non destructive... do backup the project files before proceeding just in case.

Knowing your version number is ESSENTIAL to trouble-shooting.  Telling us when/where you bought it means nothing.

After a thorough reinstall of first my video card driver and then Avid,
I am still experiencing problems.  My capture tool only displays its top two sections with no way to expand the lower sections.  When I engage V, A1 & A2 on the capture tool, I receive the message "No signal present" when my deck is plugged into the firewire port that's built into the motherboard.  If I engage the V, A1 & A2 on the capture tool when the deck is plugged into my firewire to PCI card, I receive a different message:

There is one device that registers as not working with my computer's device manager: nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal) "This divice cannot start. (code 10)"

What FireWire capture card are you using?.... the onboard?

can you check and see what chipset is on this? You can see that in the device manager under 1394 plus sign.
