    5.7** Exception:FILE_OTHER, filename:D:\OMFI MediaFiles....

I just upgraded and install AXP 5.7 and everything went smooth.  I click on a clip to play and I get the above message.  I've searched the forum and nothing seems to help.

(1.) I did go to media tool and tried to play a master clip from there with no success.

    Any ideas?

When I try to capture I get the following message "Exception: Video signal but not captured." can this be related?

sounds like a corrupt file or folder. Rename the OMFI media files folder on th edrive with problems and try again. If that works start moving batches of media from the renamed folder back to the newly created by Avid. Do not move the 2 MSM files.

    Baklap...Capture queston

    Baklap,

I was able correct my OMFI issue.  However, I am stilling getting my capture error message. "Signal but not capturing."

I up graded to 5.7 and never had the message with 5.6  before but I think the problem in in my Res:  When I have it set to D25 411 MXF I get the error message but when it is set to 15:1s MXF it captures fine.

I am using the Canopus ADVC 100 from a sony deck.  What should be my setting and how can I us D25 411MXF without getting any error message?

    Thanks

    Re: Baklap...Capture question

I've switched from MXF to OMF res: and I'm still getting the below message:

"Exception: Video Signal Present but not captured"

I've reinstalled the Nvidia drivers, still same problem.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5.7 but no success.  Should I try to roll back to 5.6.4 and see if I can get back to where I was last week?

    Any ideas welcomed!!

    Re: Baklap...Capture question

I'm having the same problem.  The issue is not present when I use avid 5.7 in windows xp.  I posted the issue elsewhere since I saw no answers to your post.  It doesn't make any sense because the video plays through just fine but won't capture.

    illini,

Did you ever get the problem fixed?  I had to roll back to 5.6 because for some reason 5.7 will not  work on my system....any ideas?

Joining the bandwagon here.... video plays fine but will not capture.  Get the 'Video present, but not cpatured' error.....

Using a mac g5 with 5.7 and just upgraded to 5.8 and having the same exact problems.....  Anybody know of a fix  for this?  Or what's happening with it?

    Re: Baklap...Capture question

Once I replaced my Videocard with a recommended video everything worked out fine.

Yes, it is.  Still getting the "Exception: Video signal present but not captured" error when trying to capture from the GL2

patrickgi--> I checked my video card, It meets specs as far as I can tell:  ATI Radeon 9600 (128mb).  This ok?

Edit:  Sorry, I didn't realize this was the PC forum....  Anyways, seems that an error this specific would have more to do with Avid than OS.....?
