I have some heartbreaking news to share......

Many of you know that the community.avid.com site was one of the first places to engage with Avid,  our customer moderators and our Avid community.  Folks such as Randall L Rike, Job ter Burg, Chris Bové, Todd Smelser ,Todd Sanderson and more would help, educate and communicate to aid the overall community.

There was one shining star in Carl Amoscato who was with us from the beginning and became a dear friend to many of us. Carl was an award winning and emmy winning editor who working in NY and found his way to London by way of his lovely wife Emma.  Between the 2 of them, they had 2 children James and Amalia.

Carl has left us all and passed away on Sept 26, 2024 from complication of cancer.  Our hearts are broken by this terrible news. Carl was a wonderful editor, friend, colleague, husband and most of all "dad".  He loved to help people which is one reason he was so great at his role here and loved by so many Avid folks.  Carl has the best sense of humor and always made me laugh with his short and to the point emails when someone posted something "off". He had a knack for seeing the humor in most things.

The world was a better place with Carl in it and a lot less fun now that he is gone.

Thanks for these beautiful words, Marianna. We will all miss Carl.

I didn't know Carl personally, but he was always a great help over here on the Avid Forums. He was a very capable person.

My thoughts are with his wife, children, family and beloved ones. , much too young!

He will be missed in all posible ways. Rest in peace Carl.

Will miss him forever. He helped thousands of us, like a first-responder, swiftly coming to the rescue with solutions and advice.
