Is there a directory limit per workspace? If so, any difference with an SDA?

Muscle memory from my ACSR exam days says that the limit is 5000 directories.  I am still checking to confirm....

My memory vaguely remembers 10K. But that might be for the Unity or Isis. Also, I want to confirm if the SDA affects the overall file count limit since it does affect the file count limit. A client has 11K (lol).

11K directories definitely debunks my 5k comment for sure.  I don't think the SDA affects the directory count as it just allows you to have more files.  I should have an answer this upcoming week.

Here is the official answer:

There is no limit to the number of directories.  We advise that for client performance, you should limit file + directory counts in a single directory to be 10,000 or less.  Directories are twice the size as a file in the metadata.  If you tried to create a file system with just directories you will not be able to reach the advertised file count.

The SDA does not affect the number of directories.
