Hi Editors:
I am searching for a source for an older MC setup Pkg for version 8.9.1, or there abouts ? If anyone would be willing to check in their archives if they still possess a copy and would be willing to share it with me, then I would be most grateful for your kindness. I do have some versions archived I had used, but I have lost all but one of my Windows MC Setup Files Archive. [:'(]
Sincerely,
Mark Andrew Job

P.S. When you archive files, do NOT store them all in just one place ! Lesson learned the hard way ! π©π©π©π©
The thing is don't peak too early in life.

Hi Mark,
Have you tried to check with the folks over at the MC User Facebook group?
Some folks might have it.
Thanks,
Ajay
Hi Ajay:
Yes. I am over there and thus far the members have only been able to offer me MAC OS archive versions, but no one seems to have any Windows installers. I have MC installer version 8.5.0, but this version is too low for my System ID number. The way it works with the MC installer activation matrix is you can go higher (Maybe ?), but the System ID number you have is supposed to be matched with the highest version you had authenticated in MC at the time. There are two possibilities which may work, since MC Activation Keys are supposed to work cross platform with either MAC or Windows ? I am also searching for the highest MC version 7.x which worked with Win 7/64 Pro or Win 10 Pro. I can't remember if any Windows 7.x version of MC ever did work with Windows 10 Pro ? Also, I'm trying to figure out what level of Quicktime support I should have installed in my Windows 10 to go with MC 8.9.1 Windows ?
Mark

The highest version of MC 7 that is qualified on Windows 7 is MC 7.0.7. Media Composer 8.5 was the version on where Windows 10 got first qualified. So, Yes you can run MC 8.9.1 on a Win 10 system.
The Quicktime version is 7.7.9
BTW in case you need a reference below is the link for the version matrix and attached to it is the legacy version matrix which has the compatibility table of the previous MC versions.

Hey Ajay:
Ya Mon ! Thank you soooo much for this extra info. You are starting to jogg my memmory. I just received MC version 8.6.4 Windows version from Editor Kim Rasmussen in Denmark, so I'm going to go ahead and give this a try, and report back what happens.
If you are looking for Media Composer 8.9.1 (Windows), it's stored on my website at http://www.stoneacres.org. The link is at the bottom of the page.

Hi DStone:
Thanks for responding. In the end I was unable to get back home to the old days of having a perpetually licenced MC. Avid Tech Support set me up with MC Ultimate, and I will probably do the monthly payment plan.
