I have been installing new versions of MC for many years.

This time, the Repair and Remove checkboxes appear during the installation.

No matter what I do, MC 2023.3 installs no MC 2023.8

MC 2023.8 installed without problems but two of the new features don't work.

When I try the 'Create script from clip' feature I get the following error:

Next, when using the 'Phrasefind AI' feature there is a Phrasefind Index error and the status indicator stays red.

I used the features in different projects and with different languages and have the most recent language pack installed.

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem?

FWIW, same error here.

EDIT-  Fixed by clean installing.  Assume folks have goitten the word by now.

Good news.  This was on the top of the fix list and is fine in v 2023.8

Bug Number: MCCET-5022. Copying and pasting keyframes in the Effects editor did not work 

for all properties.

The clean install of 2023.8 as suggested is next.

I would like to complete and close the problem raised by me. I am 100 years old and always installed new versions in the same way, I uploaded the new version, then unzip and install.exe.

Now I did the same, the Repair and Remove screen appeared.

I tried both, after Remove I did install from disk

and I installed version 2033.3 (!!!). I completely do not understand how it is possible that after running Install 2023.8, version 2023.3 is installed.

I did otherwise, uninstalled MC 2023.3 in Control Panel and then installed 2023.8 via Avid Link.

And now it's OK.

However, I find the Repair and Remove screenshot on 2023.8 installation to be highly misleading. And for this, MC 2023.3 is installed.

I tried to do a clean install of 2023.8 four times.   

Twice it worked with all the defauts.  Twice it failed when the install folder location was changed to another drive.

It is installed now but why this behavior?

I'm trying to give this transcripting a go but getting this error.

Hi there

You are right-clicking on one or more selected clips in your bin and then choosing “Create Script from Clip” -correct?

Is tht when you see the eror?

A few notes

When searching for numbers in a transcription, use Arabic numerals (e.g. 100) instead of spelling them out with text (e.g. one hundred).

Transcripts created with 2023.8 are not compatible with older versions of Media Composer. However, older scripts, which have already been created, will migrate without an issue.

I am getting the same error on AMA;d and inported clips 0 some short :35 secs and some long 30 minutes.

Just tried the new 2023.8.1 and still getting the error:

Hi! Did you find a solution to this problem? I'm still getting the same error despite multiple reinstalls etc and Avid themselves are now stumped too.

I could really do with both Scriptsync and the Create Script from Clip feature working now!!
