Any idea when new nvidia driver versions might be approved? 514.08 which is the currently approved version for MC 2023.3 was released in December of last year. After Effects is yelling at me to update my nvivida driver every time I start it up but I don't want to make MC unstable with an untested driver version.
Any thoughts?

Personally, I would update your drivers and see what happens.
I've found in recent years that updating the Nvidia drivers doesn't make any difference to the performance of Avid Media Composer (assuming you've set the parameters as described in the install notes).
There's been quite a lot written about how little MC uses the GPU compared to other software (like Resolve or AE) and in some cases, it becomes necessary to update in order to be able to run these programs.
It may also effect AVX plugins like Boris Continuum, so check these out if you have them installed.
I've found that it's pretty easy to uninstall Nvidia drivers if necessary, and go back to previous versions.
That said, I always clone the boot disk before I do anything like this, just in case I screw things up completely. I used to use Acronis, but now I find O&O Diskimage just as good and more reasonably priced. They were recently offering a 5 machine licence for about $40 (find the discount code) which covers all my workstations/laptops.
i installed the latest nvidia driver on my Laptop rtx 3070 without success. CC mode was unusable. tried many diffrent combinations with older nvidia drivers, only the the one from Nov '22 works well with my system.
Installing Nvidia driver 536.99 cleared up several problems here (crashes, lock ups, etc.). That was the latest driver as of 8-26-2023. RTX 3060 is the video card used.
I've been working on Avid Composer for 20 years, always on the latest Nvidia driver, I've never had the slightest problem with it.RegardsZF
Thank you.
Thanks ZF. I have occasionally had issues going to the latest drivers and having to roll back... usually having to do with effects. So I try to stick with approved versions. I use BCC in a lot of my work and they actually use a lot of GPU acceleration in the latest version. I appreciate your note.
