Hi there,
unfortunately I cannot get my Decklink Video Card to work with the current version of MC (2023.3) on a Z4 workstation running Windows 19045. The device won't show up in the about / hardware section and therefore the HW/SW button and the toggle Client Monitor are not available.
The device works fine with Resolve and Premiere, same resolution.
I already did the following:
- install BM Desktop Video drivers after Avid install
- Desktop Video drivers 12.5.1
- Desktop Video drivers 12.4 (this fixed the issue with the folder naming of the plugin files, see this thread: https://community.avid.com/forums/p/208184/928519.aspx#928519). But still no luck.
- created new project and fresh user settings, several restarts
Anything I missed?
Thanks!
...from another post about these issues:
4. HW devices such as BMD, AJA etc. are NOT selected/enabled by default starting with MC 2022.10.x. Customers have to right click the Open IO icon, select the HW device and then left click to Enable/Activate. This information is located in the Knowledge base but can be overlooked.
Hi Robert,
are you talking about the HW / SW button?
I checked that and now it works but only after I rebuilt the site settings like you suggested in this thread:
https://community.avid.com/forums/t/208677.aspx
After that the device appeared in help/about/configuration and I could enable it.
Thanks for your help!
For Blackmagic card issues, I use BM Media Express app that is bundled with the driver software. If you can output a picture through it, your card and drivers are usually OK and the issue lays with Media Composer.
