As you'd expect with a lot of companies dealing with media, there are many "No internet" systems in the environment.
I have to keep editing the firewall rules specifically for Media Composer or Avid Link. Whatever it was it was for the free version. Now that a purchase is being made for Media Composer, I need the straight dope on the IP allow list required for our users to get logged in.
I can't keep editing the firewall rules and its be quite frustrating so far. Is there IP allow list published somewhere so I can put this problem to bed?
For Avid Link, just allowing Avid.com in your firewall, should work.
Why would you need server IP's? Do a ping and use that one...
Cheers.

So I removed all of the IPs I collected using network monitor (Many IPs pointing at domain Akamai Technologies) and replaced with *.avid.com and Avid Link loads up fine.
But I'm still facing this unreliable log in issue. #404
I use credentials to log in to this website, no problem. Then I use the same credentials on the Avid Link login, its #404
This happened a lot before and then our team stopped using the Avid stuff because the only way past it was to open internet to the workstation and then logging in, then we can log out and shut internet off...and only then can we log in using the *.avid.com rule but it takes a while. But we can't keep doing that for every user.
So thats where Im coming from (and the Network monitor results) that tells me *.avid.com is not sufficient. Now I've already delete all of IPs from that list because its hard to maintain anyway.
But definitely theres another domain necessary? We'd really not like to blanket open firewall to entire domains btw.
