    Avid's Proxy Workflow

    Hey Everyone!

If you've come over from any other NLE (Premiere Pro, REsolve or even FCPX) to Avid then you may have noticed that Avid does it's proxys a bit differently. They're not attached to the main clip and need to be manually created, tracked and relinked by the user. Below is a link to a video I've made on the topic going through how the proxy workflow works in Avid and demonstrating it from beginning to end.

There's also plenty of other useful videos for Avid and particularly Assistant Editors on the channel :)

    Re: Avid's Proxy Workflow

Avid actually has an improved proxy workflow. But because Avid executives are bunch of geniuses, they only allow it on Media Composer Enterprise edition. Because you know, enterprise users are the only one that utilize proxy. No one else. And if others do need a better proxy support, why would Avid would want to show their tools to be more useful? There is no point to that.
