How to use framflex when grouping clips which have sync audio from mixer

I grouped a bunch clips to Sound Device audio and all is good.  I decided I want to  zoom in on certain scenes. When I go to frameflex, it will not recongize the grouped clips.  Is there a way for me to do this?  Or do I have to go back to the original source and with the additional audio.  (whihc is pain)  BTW I am in 4k so I do not want to use the resize or zoom tool from the effect pallette.

Also i used to be able to do zooms from the effect window - it would show the frame flex effect, but that does not seem to work.  I could have forgotten how do it; unless soemnthing has changed in MC

    Any Ideas?

    thank you

    Hey Larry,

What's the issue about using a rezise effect in a 4K project? That would work, no?

For frameflexing you could right click>edit group>right click the clips>find bin>add frameflex to the clips.

Yes. but I work in 1080P format -so I think it resizes the clip in 1080 thus it becomes soft when I output.   Thanks for the tip on on trying the group right click.  Will try it.  The other issue is when I use the effect editor it no longer reveals the frameflex effect, where I can perform a zoom using key frames.  Maybe I forgot how to do it, but I have used that method before.   The way is use frameflex is it is actually working with the original clip in 4k so there is no viable quality loss when I output in 1080 whihc is what the clients want.

Do not take this as total fact, but I thought that Frameflex did not work in groups.  Period.  My work flow would be put a resize on for "offline" purposes (add a marker a well).  Once pix locked, commit the groups, go back to resizes and redo with the frameflex that SHOULD show up on the new commited clips.

I think you are right, I went back to the source and did a resize in frameflex for one clip, still can't figure out why frameflex does not appear in effect window so I can do a zoom.I have done it before many times.  Maybe I forgot how, or maybe they took that option out.  Thank you

Adding a resize in a 4K project does not convert or resize the video to 1080. It should be all native.

Yes - but my project is 1080P - there was no  need to edit in 4k since I output in 1080.  So if I did resize in 1080 past about 20% or so it becomes soft.  If I am wrong then I would  appreciate knowing.  Up until the current version this ability use frame flex in the effect mode worked so I do not why now Frame Flex does not show up when I access the effect mode.

    thank you
