iZotope RX Standard 8 and 9 with Media Composer 2018.12.8

When I uninstalled iZotope 7 and installed iZotope 8, I found the Clip FX Breath Control 7 was still there along with Breath Control 8. Now that I replaced 8 with 9, Breath Control 9 has been added to the list. All the other Clip FX are replaced by the most recent version except that one.

iZotope Support suggested I rescan plug-ins, but I think only Pro Tools allows that, not Media Composer.

I haven't ever used Breath Control. All the other FX seem to be working. I am just wondering if this will cause problems down the road.

I don't know the exact answer to this, but I feel like I would have deleted both MC state files (just that default thing I do, lol) and then checked for files in the directory.

MC uses the same .aax plugin directory as PT, so you can go in there and see if anything is still around like a .dll file or folder since that's how they are stored.

Did you use Izotopes portal to download RX8 or 9?

    You were exactly right, Brian.

    I checked C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins and solved the problem.

Turns out the Breath Control in RX 7, 8 and 9 is a module which is installed separately from the rest of the RX plug-ins. The uninstaller is provided in the iZotope folder under Programs along with Portal (and presets, I think, too).

I didn't have to trash MC State files, and yes, I do use the iZotope portal to download, update etc.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction when iZotope couldn't.

    Awesome!

Glad I could help! Odd that Izotope wouldn't know that information.
You probably scared them away with Media Composer, and not Pro Tools.
