I am creating a workflow to convert 23,976p masters to deliver them in 25p by speeding up the playback rate, in a file based procress.
Let's say I have a 23,976 MXF file : by opening a 25p project, linking the 23,976 file in it and selecting «Project's FPS (25.000)» for the «Playback Frame Rate» in the «Playback Rates» of the «Source Settings», I get the frame rate needed. Now, how can I precisly correct the pitch shift of the audio using «Pitch Shifft Legacy» or «Pitch II» in the AUDIO SUITE tool?
If I am not mistaken, audio is played at 104,2709376042709 % (or 1,042709376042709 faster) : what is the pitch shift correction for that?
You will most likely be horrified by the result of the shift using Pitch Shift II or Legacy. The only viable solution for pitch shifting in my opinion is Serato Pitch'n'Time, and even that works best if you do this from stems -- simply because different algorithms work better for music, dialogue and foley steps for instance.
And even then, there is _always_ a sound quality hit.
I would think it would be 23.976 / 25.000 = 0.95904. And 0.95904 * 1,042709376042709 = 1.
But honestly, if these are master mixes, either get a sound house to spend some time on a proper conversion, or accept the pitch shift. I'm 99% certain that most 23.976fps shows are shown in 25fps here in Europe, without picth correction, so with everything pitched up.

This was common practice when I was working for UK broadcasters - albeit some years ago!
It works out to about a semitone in musical terms, so most people don't notice it. I seem to remember hearing about the odd director/composer who noticed the key change in their music.
I guess they might do pitch correction for concerts, otherwise Pachelbel's 'Canon in D' becomes D sharp!
