    Problems transcoding CANON AVC

    I am having troubles transcoding files shot with Canon XF 705, AVC Long-GOP High (HD1080p) to XDCAM 50 1080i.

    I link them in AMA and then when I try to transcode it I have a failure message :

    Assertion failed: normalCaching || smallCaching

    File: /Snapshots/relingmini1_1613493828/coresw/core/src/filesys/CoreMacFileLocator.c, Line: 1325

    When I debug it, it does work and I can read it. But it is really anoying since I have a lot of files to transcode.

    I have the last Canon XF plugin. I am running Media Composer 2018 12.15 on Mac OS Mojave, Macbook pro 2013, 2,4 Ghz i5, 4 Go RAM.

    Thanks in advance

    Your system isn't really qualified to run MC 2018. You need an I7 with at least 8Gb of memory to run effectively. You might want to get a 3rd party transcoder and transcode the video outside of MC first. Also note that there will be no further development for 2018.x, so don't expect any new releases.

    DIY quad core I7-4790K, 32Gb, NVidia RTX 2060 Super 8, Win 10 Pro, MC (generally the latest or the one just before) [view my complete system specs]
