Media composer 2020.12 and Adobe Encoder 2020 (14.8)

Since we've updated one of our suites to 2020.12 its made adobe encoder stop working.
We always export out of avid using MXF files, and normally just drop them into AME to encode to various formats that clients require, but this one system now takes forever to import the file (sometimes it doesnt), then when you change the preset to say vimeo 1080 AME greys out and stops responding.
The same happens with older files created well before 2020.12
I've tried all the usual trash prefs of AME, and uninstall AME, as welll as uninstall/reinstall MC, and reinstall the nvidia drivers
Does anyone know why that might happen.

Not sure what the actual issue is here.

Iits not that Media Composer is making different mXF files that AME can't process as you say the issue exists on files created in the past.

The issue seems to be that having Media Composer and AME on the same system stops AME working asit should.

Have you tried uninstalling Media Composer and then testing AME?

If that works fine and then re-installing Media Composer causes AME to stop working that would suggest there is an issue between having Media Composer and AME on the same system.

Also what renderer are you using in AME? have you tried the software only mercury engine?

I think I've possibly fixed it.
Theres clearly a system file that both avid and adobe share for reading mxf files in AME.
I've done a full system search for anything with mxf in the file name, and deleted any file that was found in the adobe folders or avid folders that looked codec related.
I've then reinstalled AME 14.8 and MC 2012.12 and now AME happily imports and encodes the mxf files.
