Any Encoder Program for QT Reference Export to .mp4?

I produce 60- to 160-minute videos of plays and musicals.  For years it was quick and easy to export a mixdown reference file to Squeeze.  After Squeeze, I found Adobe Media Encoder (2017 v.11.1.4) that accepted the MC Quick Time reference file.  Now apparently ME 11.1.4 is no longer available or functioning.

It takes hours to export my work to .mov, etc.  Has anyone come across new software that likes QT Reference files?

I should add that Adobe's later versions of ME do not accept reference files.

    Shutter Encoder.

Although eventually, at some point, you will have to let go of Quicktime (7), as Apple have essentially killed it.

Thank you.  Can you recommend an Avid output setting that will take less time to export?  HD 1920x1080 H.264 .mov files are massive.

Not sure why the size matters, since you can toss larger files away after use.

Anyway, fastest ways to export are to use the UME, exporting to either MOV or MXF in either DNxHD or ProRes. That should be quite fast. Yes, you end up with a large file, but that file can either be your archival master, or you can toss it away after creating your mp4 file in Shutter Encoder.

Again, thank you.  I'll try that.  I'm actually not concerned about the resulting file size; just a faster export.  Thanks!

    Hi,

    very fast is TMPGENC.

    2 h movie FHD (HP Z8 G4, 2xXeon 6246R, 128 GB RAM):

Avid -> export MOV (DNxHD, ProRes) 1.40h  -> TMPGEC (MP4 or HEVC, 1.20h).

Richard you need to be on MC 2020 to get access to UME exports (your specs show 2019)

But remember smaller export sizes normally equate to longer exprt times as you are spending time doing the squashing.

So exporting as a DNx resolutin is normally quicker if you make sure the drive you are exporting to is fast enough (and ideally not the same drive as the sequence media or the drive is having to read and write content)

That said on my modect quad i7 laptop I can do a 55min H264 export in about 80 mins. Which isn't bad.

Doing a video and audio mixdown first also helps.

You need 2020.x for MOV through UME. In 2019.x and before you still have Op1A MXF which also uses the UME.
