Hi all!
I'm having trouble with Media Composer crashing after I select and open a project. It doesn't matter if the project is new or old.
I've tried installing these 3 versions. (I did a full uninstall after each install.) Every one of them crashes at the same spot. (20.6.0) Will crash at "reading *user* settings" after project selection.
Media_Composer_20.6.0_Win
Media_Composer_2019.12_Win
Media_Composer_2018.12.3_Win
I previously had a trial version of 2019 installed a few months ago. Everything was working fine. Ultimately I uninstalled because I wasn't working remote yet.
There have been a few windows updates. I would assume nothing substantial.
I've searched everywhere for a solution. So far, nothing has worked.
System,
Windows 10 Pro - Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041
CPU: Ryzen 3700x
MEM: 32GBs
GPU: AMD 5700XT - 20.10.23.01 - RadeonProEnterprise Driver
Installed on M.2 NVMe (2280)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does it make a difference what user you select from the drop-down in the project selection window? Try creating a new user setting.

No difference unfortunately.
What mainboard do you use?
I had a similiar problem with Asus or more precise with the audio driver (Avid crashing on startup) . Asus combines it with a program called Sonic. I had to uninstall the audio drover and Sonic and let Windows install the driver.
10.0.19041 Build 19041 --> Windows 10 Update 2004
Afaik this version has not been approved. Also there have been bugs reported. Maybe try to downgrade to 1909 to eliminate Windows as the problem.

It's an MSI X570 MB. I have something similar called Nahimic. I'll see if I can do something with that to get it working.
I'll look into downgrading. I may not have the time to downgrade and reinstall all of my programs.
Good new! Looks like it was the "Nahimic" software.
Thanks for the help!

Hey Kevin, I was looking to build a PC with the ryzen 7. I was wondering if I could get some info on your build. Would like to pick your brain on the components you are using if you don't mind sharing the info.

MEM: 32GBs (3600mhz recommended)
