Export MXF Using DVCPRO & XDCAM EX Codecs - Media Composer

I have clients which require TV Shows I upload to them both be in an MXF container, one requiring DVCPRO HD 1080 60Hz and the other requiring XDCAM EX 35 NTSC 1080 (4:2:0).  I've been exporting QT Reference files and doing my encoding to MXF through Adobe Media Encoder, but they've now stopped support for QT Reference import.  I'm hoping I can export what I need directly from Avid instead, but I can't figure out how to do this.

I'm on a Mac Pro running Sierra, using Media Composer version 2018.5.

I have been exporting OP1a as my "master" then deliverables from there.  Whatever my project setting e.g. 1080i, UHD 24p etc.. then thats the OP1a export setting I use, so it is basically 1:1.  From there send thru Encoder and bobs your uncle...

Re: Export MXF Using DVCPRO & XDCAM EX Codecs - Media Composer

You can get the XDCAM in an MXF container directly from Media Composer using 2018.x and 2019.x. For 2019.x use export to file, click on the Options button, and  choose XDCAM export. For 2018.x, use export to file, click on the Options button, and choose Avid Media  Processor.

You can't get DVCPro HD directly out of Media Composer. You can use FFMPEG (with the -enable_drefs option) to read QT reference files and convert them to DVCPro HD. But for this you'll need to do a bit of research on using FFMPEG to get exactly what you want. There are also GUIs available for FFMPEG to make your life simpler.
