Hi there! how are you?I was wondering if there's a way to change TAPE NAME to a bunch of clips, but automatically adding Clip Name info.I mean... to get TAPE NAME = CLIP NAMEIs there a way? Thanks!
From the Clip menu, choose Modify... Modify Clip and select Set Source from the dropdown menu.
Agreed. It has to be done one-by-one if you literally want each clip's Tape Name to be uniquely copied from its Clip Name.
If it's ok to use the same tape Name for a group of clips - eg all from the same camera card - it can be applied to a multiple selection too.
In general, you can copy the data in one bin column to another by selecting it and pressing Cmd/D, but this won't work for Tape Name because it requires you to go through the Modify dialogue.

I do hope these are real tape captures. Using the tape name for filebased content blows away the source file and source path data.

Hello,
On the new MC v2020, you have the bulk edit function that allow you to quickly fill column for numerous clips. With the column data option, you can copy an information from a column to another one.
Avid's youtube video on this:

You can select the tape column in there, althought it could be safer to copy/paste your clip name info to the comment column.
Regards,
Benoît.
