I need to include MP4 shots from a phone into my sequence.
The sequence is 720p30, the clips are 640 * 352 (framed vertically)
I want to link and keep the source size unchanged (the goal is to resize, rotate etc. using BCC Reframer filter after).
When I link using "Center keep size" the result is a clip that is about 1/3 of the 1280 * 720 frame size (expected: 1/2) which is NOT "keep size" to me. IOW I need to resize by 300% in order to fill the frame (a 640 * 352 clip would only require 200% resize, according to my math).
I have tried many combinations using source Settings / Frameflex, but can't get the clip to be the correct size (even with Frameflex/Size = 100 and Z rot = 0)
Strangely, 640 x 300% = 1920, so it's like if the frameflex scaling incorrectly assumes my project is 1080p !
I am afraid that by just moving on like this, the clip would be resized twice: once by MC via the Source settings (frameflex) and once again by the BCC Reframer which will be used to scale as needed, causing unnecessary degradation....
User error or bug ?

Can you post a screenshot of your FrameFlex settings window for both "incorrect" and "correct"?

It may be simply something I'm not doing correctly:
When I change the project format (raster dimension) on-the-fly, the relative size of this AMA clip (formatted as "center keep size") DOES NOT CHANGE when I select NTSC (SD) or 720p or 1080p : the clip remains at the same 1/3 size relative to the raster size !!!
It DOES change when I go to resoutions higher than 1080: the clip gets smaller (which is expected)

Experimenting further, I notice that when I AMA-link a regular 720p clip in a 720p project with 'center keep size', the default Frameflex settings are:
Raster Dimension: 1280 x 720, Image size: 1920 x 1080 (16:9) !!!!
When I click on the 'set to raster size' button, Image size becomes 1280 x 720 as expected, but the clip is reduced by 30 % (and no longer fits the frame)! https://www.dropbox.com/s/xm58rhw5lxjeeel/720.png?dl=0
In the 'Image size' dropdown list, 720 isn't there; when I click on 'set to raster size', 1280 x 720 is added as custom value...
Could it be that Frameflex is not designed/suitable for lower than HD 1080 resolutions ?
How to be sure no scaling occurs when linking clips in 1280 x 720 projects or lower ?
The default settings may suggest that when linking a 720p clip in a 720p project down- then up-scaling by 30% is appled ....
"Keep size" means keep the pixel size of the source. So the behavior is correct. But did you try updating the sequence after changing the project size?
yes, I did,
But I'm not sure why you say the behavior is correct ? To me it is correct only for resolutions HD1080 and up (see the 5 screenshots provided) and that is what is puzzling me
