Does Frame Flex work on a subclip

Made a subclip and need to blow up for a close up.   However not seeing framflex working -anything I am doing wrong?   Just read that I had to also apply it to he original clip but would rather not.

    thanks you

Re: Does Frame Flex work on a subclip

Frameflex needs to be done to the original master clip, but of course that would mean it would apply to all instances of that clip on the timeline (assuming you've refreshed your sequence).

What you can do is to apply the clip to the timeline without any blow-up, then go into effect mode, where you can see the Frameflex as an effect. If you blow the shot up here (rather in the Source Settings) it will only effect that clip and not the whole master clip.

If you use resize, you will be blowing up the image based on your project settings. If your rushes were UHD but your timeline is 1080, you'll not be able to utilise the resolution of your original rushes, but just blowing up 1080.

With Frameflex, you will be to take advantage of all the available resolution.

Yes - I meant i will use the method you suggested.  Actually about to do it now.  I did have an occassion a while back after getting a project from resolve and then getting it back into MC - somehow I lost a CU of shot I where I used Framelflex.  I did do a reaize in mc for the CU maybe 30 -40% and it still looked good - I got lucky.  Footage was Pro Res 4k 10bit

Anyway you are right and will try your method now.

    Thank you
