exception a serious error has occurred!

I finally upgraded to 2019,  when I opened a completed project I got the following error;  exception a serious error has occurred!  I did some searches on Google and found the problem exist with linked files.  So I deleted the linked files seeing as I had already transcoded  those linked files and everything worked.  Today a client asked for a re-cut on another project and I got the same error with that project.  For now I'm going back to the old Avid, I must have missed somthing on the forms, why does the new Avid have this problem with linked files?

Maybe the AMA plugin has changed?

Also delete everything deletable in your project. SearchData, Statistics, Trash, WaveformCache & the XML

Re: exception a serious error has occurred!

Thanks for getting back to me, when I switched back to 2018 I still had the error for the project I needed to recut.  I started narrowing down the problem by deleting sections of the time line.  When I deleted all of the BCC primatte effects the error went awat and the timeline functioned.  I deleted primatte  and reinstalled the latest version and all is well so maybe I corrupted BCC going from 2018-2019 and back to 2018? Also I should have saved a copy of all my Primatte presets because they are gone now, I'm going to check my backup drive and see if it is there.

Not quit sure what happen in Avid 2019,  as I said the problem went away when I deleted all of my linked files in the project.

Don't forget, you also have an "Avid Attic".

You can't corrupt an effect by switching avid versions.

It's a file already on your harrddrive. Avid install can't alter a few bytes in files that arent even avid's.

You can run into compatability problems though. And sometimes there's just plain wiredness at play.

ah, and you can hide effects from avid by temporarily removing them from here:

    C:\Program Files\Avid\AVX2_Plug-ins

quicker than a reinstall, maybe a useful trick for testing.
