Is this on the 2020.2 beta?

Oops -- my bad. I came here direct from a web search and didn't check the forum headline.

My issues are on the 2020.4 stable release. I'll repost in the proper spot.

    Cheers

    Re: Can't import media

Hi, just curious if you ever got to the bottom of this issue. I just installed MC 2020.4 and can't import any video thus far. This includes video converted to Avid-friendly codecs that DO import just fine in the same project on another system with an earlier version of Avid. None of my editor friends or AEs can figure it out, so any info you have would be awesome.

There are a lot of changes in 2020.4 regarding what can be linked/imported. There's a list starting on page 3 of the what's new doc:

I know. But how exactly did you solve the problem you asked about? Conversion settings? Friendly codecs? Particular type of charming conversation?

The way you solve the problem is you tell people what kind of files you have that are not working - what format/frame rate, what codec, what file type - and they will give you suggestions about what you can do to convert them to something that you can bring into Media Composer.

    Re: Can't import media

The file that isn't working is an iphone video converted with Handbrake to an to this:

    File Type: mp4

Format: H.264 HD (1-1-1), Mono, AAC, 44100 Hz

    Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 16:9

    Encoded FPS: 30

    The original iPhone video was:

    Format: HEVC (8-bit) HD (1-1-1)

    Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 16:9

    Encoded FPS: 59.99

The settings on my project are these:
