audio mixer levels dont work after rendering

I have a sequence where I have some background music in a bar scene set to -20db.  Ive then applied an audio EQ effect "telephone EQ A" to improve the atmospheric sound.  It all sounds good whilst editing.

Then before a viewing I want to render all tracks to help prevent any buffering during playback, but I find that the levels of the music have jumped back up.  The EQ effect still sounds to be applied but the render has overruled the mixer levels, even though it still displays at -20db in the audio levels.

It seems like a bug, but Im curious if others have found this and know of a solution.

Where are you pulling down the mix in the mixer tool ? if so is it on clip or live

That version may be the culprit. I vaguely recall an issue with clip levels being ignored.
