Hi All,
I've discovered a problem with rendering quality.
Admittedly BCC 8 is a bit old now but it is 64 bit and is very expensive to replace with a newer version when it has what I need now!
Anyway... I've discovered that is render settings are set to 16 or 32 bit in media creation, rendering crashes MC, set to automatic or 8 bit seems to work OK.
Hey fire....
what version of MC are you on and the OS too would help.

Checking with the Boris folks.
Thank you! It's BCC 8.1.1 if that's any help

Unfortunately, according to Boris, this is an untested and unsupported configuration. This is actually more likely due to the fact that you are using Mojave/OSX 10.14, rather than complications with the Media Composer version. Only BCC 2019 (equivalent to BCC 12) is compatible with this OSX version.
Jumping in here as well as I've been doing testing with this same issue recently.
Boris itself isn't Mojave compatible. We just purchased a bunch of iMac Pros that we were using to replace old cheese graters, and Boris 8 and 9 had been running fine for years all through High Sierra. However, as soon as we attempt to render or export on a Mojave machine, Avid hard crashes.
The only option for us was to upgrade to Boris 2019/12 (as 10 and 11 have the same Mojave render issue) or downgrade the iMac Pros to High Sierra. We decided to downgrade to High Sierra for now, and look to replace Boris once Avid starts supporting Catalina and the 2019 Mac Pro.
