glad to report success using canons AMA plugin for their H265.  Unplayable of course (in any realistic usable way) but link and transcode works great.  Yeah!!!!!!  About double real time in SQ writing to an SSD.

    need both

What ive been doing for all DJI 4k stuff is drag files into premiere and export, use the Avid DNxHR codec and then in avid link to it - done..

Resolve handles H265 fine so I've been using that to create all my Avid media.  It also transcodes to Avid OP Atom MXFs much faster than Media Composer does so I just create that media through Resolve and have it render the media directly to an Avid MediaFiles folder which I then just scan and bring in the database.  Very quick and easy.

Sounds good. To create DNXHR, 4k Media, Resolve Studio is required i guess?

You can go up to UHD with the free version. True DCI 4K I think is studio only.

Looks like Canon has a free options, but you can also try the Drastic MediaReactor AMA plug-in (paid), whic is supposed to support HEVC/h265 (read-only, no writing):

They have a free trial so you can try it out and see if it's any better.
