I frequently use and re-use little motion effects created in the 3D tool.

A little creep here. A little pan there.

It’s nice to be able to drop custom effect on a clip to see if a little move makes the shot work better.

I do it a lot. I’ve done it for a long time.

But in the latest release I noticed that the custom effects I make only hold the start keyframe but not the end. Result? Not much of anything.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Just curious...if you're placing an effect that was 10 seconds long on a 1 second clip, the ending keyframes will be well past the end of the clip, thereby not seeing much of an animation.

Can you confirm that the end keyframes are past your clip by using the scroll wheel in the effect editor?

I haven't checked this, but it could be a function of whether the effect was saved with keyframes that are "fixed" or "elastic." I know those functions work when trimming a clip; I'm not sure if they affect placing an effect on a clip.

I have the same issue with elastic keyframes. Only first frame is saved. More precisely if i drag effect to bin for save it's saved with two keyframes. And I can drag it to next clip and see there all keyframes. But after restarting MC the second keyframe in bin is gone.

I expected this question. The answer is no. As I said, this behaviour is unusual. Usually a keyframe that adjusts position or scale at the start & end will then apply it to the start and end of any clip I drop it on. That is no longer the case. But even if the second keyframe is not visible, there would still be some motion/alteration of the image over time. Instead, there is only what the 1st keyframe applies and nothing else. Again, unusual.

The way it used to behave made saving teh effect much more helpful.

I am not seeing that here, although I admit I am testing the next version, so I can't speak directly to 2018.12.

I take a 3D Warp with start and end keyframes, drop it in a bin, then drag to another clip and both keyframes are in the effect.

Anyone else on 2018.12 that sees this?

@Fish, Can you also try a new Avid user?

If I drag DIRECTLY from one clip to another, no problem. But if I save the preset to a bin and from the bin drop it on the clip...no second keyframe.

Hmmm... that is odd. In my example above (which wasn't clear) I was dragging it from the bin to the second clip, and it worked.

Did you get a chance to try a new user?

Restart MC and then try with saved before effect.

Still worked for me. The effect from the bin looks exactly as expected.

Any chance someone could throw one of their effects into a bin, and ZIP the file to post?

What MC version are you using?

Strange but now all keyframes are saved. But 2 times before on last week they disappeared.

I'm not sure if it's related, but settings in the command palette are also not saved after restart in version 2018.12.  I use shortcut keys for Timeline views, which are setup within the More section of the Command Palette.  But the settings are not saved after re-launch.  So maybe there's some connection with settings files not being saved properly.  I believe the first version with this issue was 2018.11

For me, the only work-around is to re-set my 5 Timeline view assignments in the Command Palette every morning.  Which is becoming more and more annoying.

Same here. Annoying issue with not saved Timeline View assigned to the keyboard. Another thing is not respected Site Settings in any Project created after Site Settings saved. 

Another one is not saved choosen things in Color Correction windows. After restart there's always default Previous on the left, Main on center and Another clip in the right window. No respect for my settings eg. Waveform on the left and Reference on the right window.

I'm afraid there's a lot of bugs, but we don't use them daily.

Gorky - you still on OS 10.11.6? or have you updated?  2018.12 min is 10.12.x now
