I've been using Apple Compressor for a long time now. Been really happy with the results and the price tag. Use it for both HD and 4K workflows.

Since upgrading to 2018.12.3, my Squeeze 11 won't open as a standalone. It keeps asking me to activate media composer or buy the program. maybe I need to reinstall. Are there folders I should remove manually after uninstalling?
I have sorenson squeeze as part of media composer (I don't remember, probably got with 5.0 or earlier). now, it asks for activation, and I cannot activate due to being discontinued (or sorenson in bancrupt, you chose).
is there a way to activate it anyway?
Squeeze Desktop We have developed a new version of Squeeze that will not communicate with any registration server and will allow you to upgrade to Squeeze 11.1 Pro using the serial number for any previous version of Squeeze. There is no cost for this upgrade. However, we cannot guarantee that the software will continue to work past September 1, 2018. We recommend that you seek alternate encoding solutions immediately. Here are the latest Squeeze Desktop 11.1 installation files. Please download these installers immediately as they may be taken down or moved after September 1, 2018. Hi, I missed the opportunity to upgrade to Squeeze 11 - didn't know about it. And due to PC breakdown recentlly I lost all sw and had to reinstall everything. I have always used Squeeeze to encode QT reference files from Avid MC. My old, wellfunctioning Squeeze has a license key but no serial number, and I can't reinstall it! Does enyone has a "free" Squezzez 11 that can be transferred to another computer?
Extremely grateful for help!
Hi Suzanne,
From which version of Squeeze is your licence key coming from?
Ivan
Originally I don't remeber, but my last version was 6.5...
Hi,
Curent fastest workaround I have found is to export AAFs, drop those into Premiere and encode them through AME!
Its rediculous that this is necissariy in 2019 but it seems to be the quickest way of rendering out, and means that Avid isn't tied up exporting.
If anyone has found a better solution i'd be glad to hear it!

For what issue exactly?

This is my workaround for exporting quickly from Avid now that quicktime Reference files are no longer supported by Media Encoder and Avid no longer comes with Squeeze. I would like to be able to batch export sequences without tying up my Avid and AAF > Premiere > Media Encoder is the fastest route I have come up with. It seems like there must be a better way, but I haven't seen one mentioned...
I think someone mentioned that TMPGEnc still supports QT Ref.

Yes it does.
