Hi,
Is there any possibility to disable the new Live Timeline function?
Thanks in advance
No but why would you want too?

It's a very good innovation, but the way I work, i would prefer to disable as it slows down my workspeed.
Probably because it has some issues.

No livetimeline issues reported.... Only Mac sluggishness which we have a fix for.
Great. Looking forward to trying it out.
There is no technical issue.
It is just changing my work habits. After nearly 30 years of AVID you get some automatisms that are difficult to change ... So the possibility to switch it off would be appreciated.
Same with me. If you don‘t need it for actual screening purposes it only slows down my habitual workflow.
Please make it optional in future releases.
Thanx in advance Marianna. 🤓

Agreed. After almost 20 years of working with and studying MC - it's too hard to change work habits, and that's really slows down the workflow.
Vote +1 to have the option to disable "live timeline"

I agree. Please allow it to be turned off. 25 years with Avid, and a long established workflow and the Live Timeline gets in my way.
Folks...
Can you be VERY specific about where they are getting tripped up?
Curious how its getting in the way too? If you didnt know it was there it'd be just like using MC for the last 25 years.
I guess because you expect something to stop with a random click and youd rather it stop then keep playing? that I can understand but IM eaily ignorable.
For me, one example is that I have mapped the Expand and Contract Timeline functions to the 4th & 5th buttons on my mouse. I use them constantly, and I expect playback to stop the moment I click my shortcut buttons. But now I always have to stop playback first, which is kind of annoying to me. Not a huge deal breaker, just being forced to change my long-term workflow habits.

Absolutely want the option to disable this new “live timeline”, to use it ONLY as needed.

Hi Marianna,
here is one example with MC 2018.9.0 on a MacPro Mid2010 with OsX10.11.6
I play a Source Clip in Composer window and during play i move the bin around to see whats underneath.
If I hit space bar or esc to stop the clip it won‘t. The only way to stop it is to navigate the cursor to composer window and stop it clicking play.
If you‘re used to rarely use your mouse it‘s extremely annoying.
Yours,
Martib
