After changing audio level timeline won't play.

    Has anyone come across this?

Every so often, I change the audio level using the audio mixer and press Space - nothing.  The only way I know to fix it is to exit Avid and restart.  Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks

Before I delve into this Simon....

Are your specification listed correct?   MC version?  OS?

    Marianna

Yes I've just double checked and added some info about the kind of media I'm using.  I appreciate your attention to this issue.

    Thanks for the suggestion George.

In this case, there were no plug-ins in use on the audio, as probably the other times it happened, as its generally early on in my workflow.

Re: After changing audio level timeline won't play.

Yep.  Happens to me as well.  Usually after adjusting an audio level (on mixer) on either the source or the record side.  My work around is to hit the play icon on the source (or record) that was just adjusted.

Often after adjusting the audio level, I'll hit the "L" key and nothing happens.... I'll hit the "L" key again and nothing.  If I click (with mouse) on the play icon, it starts to play at high speed.... ie: if I did hit the "L" key twice, it will play at 3 times regular speed (twice for the "L" and once for the play icon.)

It's odd, but I never have to quit Avid.... everything settles after hitting the play icon.  This seems to happen only on the first time any audio is adjusted.  Hardly ever happens after that.

Interesting findings :)     I think I tried clicking on the play button on the monitor, but not necessarily on the one I adjusted so I might try that as a shortcut until Marianna comes back with some findings.

Re: After changing audio level timeline won't play.

This has just happened to me. MC 8.6.5 on a z420 with mojo DX. Made an audio adjustment in mixer and suddenly could no longer play.

Strangely any keyboad command seemed to stop working, could only, e.g., mark in and out via active command palette ... but even with that I couldn't play. Using command palette I tried loading the source and playing it as per other poster, but no luck.

    Restarting sfotware fixed it.

Re: After changing audio level timeline won't play.

I am getting this as well.

Often on new sequences on first audio adjustment the fader is adjusted but there is no adjustment in level.  My solution is to unload the sequence from the record monitor and reload.

    Was there any solution?
